Why 135 Degrees is the Magic Number
Most people think of a pergola as a decorative piece, but a bioclimatic pergola in Maharashtra is actually a high-performance cooling machine. We use motorized aluminum louvres that tilt from 0° to 135°.
That specific range of motion is what creates the "Thermal Chimney" effect. When you tilt the slats slightly open:
Block the Direct Hit: The aluminum reflects the harsh UV rays away from the terrace floor.
Vent the Pressure: Hot air naturally wants to rise. In a fixed shed, that air gets trapped and pushed downward.
The Chimney Pull: With our system, the hot air escapes through the gaps between the louvres. This creates a low-pressure zone that pulls cooler air in from the sides.
It’s a natural cycle that can drop the temperature on your terrace by 10°C to 12°C without using a single watt of power for cooling.
