There are some projects that just make you feel good at the end of the day, not because of the profit, but because of who you're helping. We recently wrapped up a job for Mr. Yogesh Saraf at his school, USA Vidya Niketan in Tumsar (Bhandara). If you’ve ever been to a nursery or KG classroom in the peak of a Vidarbha summer, you know exactly why this was needed. Yogesh ji wanted a safe, cool space for the little ones in Nursery and KG-1/2 to play without getting baked by the sun.
The "Google Call" that started it all
It’s funny how the world works now. Yogesh ji found us just by searching for a tensile canopy manufacturer in Tumsar. We were complete strangers when we first spoke, but by the time we finished the final bolt, it felt more like a family bond. That’s the kind of trust you build when you’re working on a school where hundreds of kids spend their day.
The Metal Sheet vs. Tensile Fabric Debate
Initially, there was a lot of confusion. Yogesh ji was looking at a traditional metal profile sheet because, on paper, it was cheaper. But anyone who has stood under a tin shed in 44°C knows it feels like an oven. Plus, the noise when it rains? You can’t hear yourself talk, let alone a teacher talking to kids.
We sat down with him and the project architect, Mrs. Pooja Wasnik, to explain why a tensile canopy for playground use is a game-changer. Since we have our own manufacturing unit at FV INFRA LLP, we managed to cut down the margins and gave him a price that actually beat the metal sheet quote. He was shocked, but once he saw the specs—Apollo ISI marked YST 210 steel and 950 GSM Serge Ferrari fabric—he was all in.
Bringing the Light in (Without the Heat)
The playground was surrounded by brick walls, which usually makes a space feel dark and cramped. We suggested a translucent white fabric with a PVDF coating. This was a win-win: it blocks 100% of UV rays and drops the temperature by about 30-40% compared to a normal shed, but it lets natural light filter through. You don’t even need to switch on the lights during the day.
We went with a Dome design. It’s not just strong; it looks inviting. When you see parents walking in and realizing their kids are playing in a bright, airy, and cool environment, you realize that's the "ROI" that really matters.
Racing Against the School Bell
Our biggest headache was the timeline. You can’t exactly have a construction crew around 4-year-olds for weeks on end. It’s a safety nightmare and it disrupts their play. Pooja ma'am was very strict about site constraints, and we totally agreed.
We told Yogesh ji we’d be done in two weeks. To keep that promise, we doubled our team and resources on the ground. We were painting with PU white using compressors to get that mirror finish and patterning the fabric to be 100% wrinkle-free, all while the school was buzzing. We finished ahead of schedule.
Why it allows us to sleep at night
Seeing the students, the staff, and Yogesh ji so happy with the final result is why we do this. The steel is rated for 30 years, and the fabric will easily handle the Bhandara weather for the next 15 years with just a basic wash.
If you’re a school owner or looking for a tensile fabric car parking shed or a tensile structure for school premises in places like Nagpur, Gondia, Amravati, or even across the border in Raipur or Jabalpur, let’s have a chat. We aren't just selling a product; we’re designing a space that people actually want to be under.
