Some projects carry a little extra weight—not because of their size, but because they have to reflect the prestige of the client. That was the situation when we took on the car parking tensile structure for the residence of MLA Mr. Rajesh Bakane in Wardha. We're FV INFRA LLP, and the goal here was to turn a simple parking space into a signature piece.
The primary purpose, of course, was practical: protecting vehicles. But Mr. Bakane's son, Gauresh Bakane, who coordinated all the technical and commercial discussions with us, had a clear vision. He wanted a unique design that stood out—something truly eye-catching, especially since the shed is visible right from the main entry point of the residence.
Blending Function, Design, and Politics
Gauresh ji was keen to understand the details—design, material, and costing. We told him our plan: a striking dome design supported by a single-side MS column, integrated with a distinct CNC-cut aesthetic element. And we promised the cost would be the most competitive for the high standard we deliver.
Our on-site supervisor, Amar Kherde, made sure every step aligned with the vision. We explained how this unique tensile roof for vehicle parking would safeguard their vehicles from harsh sun rays and water while dramatically boosting the residence's aesthetic appeal.
Mr. Bakane and his team had all the right questions: How long? How many engineers? What about longevity?
We laid out the timeline: eight engineers working efficiently to complete the job in four weeks. We guaranteed durability: the Apollo-make, ISI-marked heavy-duty mild steel (YST 210 grade) frame would last an impressive 28 years, and the high-quality tensile fabric, more than 12 years. Our reasonable, competitive pricing was well-received. That honesty about quality and price is what builds trust.
Solving the Time Crunch with PEB
We insisted on using premium materials, as we always do. The fabric was specified as 900 GSM from a trusted source (Serge Ferrari, Sioen, Mehler, Sattler, or SRF), in crisp white color with a PVDF coating—essential for reducing heat and UV rays. The steel was finished with durable Duco white color paint.
The main challenge on this site was a delay from the civil side. We had a time hold while the civil contractors finalized the concrete foundation needed to erect the steel structure. This could have wasted days, but we solved it by leveraging the PEB (Pre-Engineered Building) concept. We used that downtime to get the entire steel structure ready off-site. As soon as the foundation was done, we were able to quickly install the prefabricated parts. This ensured we finished the entire work on time.
The final result was fabulous. Both the client and the associated teams were extremely happy. The fusion of the CNC design with the flowing tensile structure truly made the entrance unforgettable.
