Some projects just stay with you because of the sheer transformation involved. We recently wrapped up a project in Amravati for Dr. Prabhat Khapekar, and it’s a perfect example of why we do what we do at FV INFRA LLP. The location was one of the city's most premium spots—the tranquil and upscale Camp area—where the doctor had a beautiful private swimming pool that, unfortunately, was becoming a bit of a headache.
When Doubts Meet Design
When I first met Dr. Khapekar, he was honestly a bit skeptical. He had seen basic tensile parking sheds elsewhere, but he couldn't quite visualize how a fabric roof could cover a luxury swimming pool without looking like a temporary tent. He had so many questions: Will it heat up the water? What happens in a heavy Amravati thunderstorm? Is it actually going to last?
This is where Samit Nagose, the project consultant, played a massive role. Samit is the kind of guy who bridges the gap between a client’s vision and technical reality. He helped us navigate the specific site constraints and ensured that every technical doubt the doctor had was answered with hard facts. We sat down with our 3D designs and showed him exactly how the tensile structure canopy would not only shade the water but actually enhance the architectural "vibe" of his home.
More Than Just a Shade
The original goal was simple: stop the pool from becoming a hot bath during the day. But as we got into the engineering, we realized we could do so much more. By using a high-performance, PVDF-coated membrane, we created a space that stayed significantly cooler.
The beauty of this material is that it reflects the harsh UV rays while still allowing soft, natural light to filter through. It turned a "swimming pool shed" into a multipurpose outdoor lounge. Now, the family doesn't just use the pool for a quick dip; they host evening tea and relax by the water without worrying about bird droppings or falling leaves.
The Technical "Peace of Mind"
I’m a bit of a stickler for the "bones" of a structure. For this Amravati site, we used Apollo ISI marked heavy-duty steel to ensure the frame wouldn't budge, even when the winds pick up. The fabric itself is a premium grade that doesn't sag or lose its tension over time. It’s that extra bit of engineering—the part the client doesn't see but feels—that allows us to sleep at night.
Watching the doctor’s skepticism turn into genuine excitement as the final fabric was tensioned was the highlight of the month. It’s one thing to see a tensile parking unit in a commercial lot, but seeing a designer canopy completely change the lifestyle of a family in Amravati? That’s the real win.
