He had already vetted vendors from Delhi, Mumbai, and local Raipur shops, but most were pushing low-grade materials that just don’t survive the Chhattisgarh sun. Engineering for the Raipur "Wind Tunnel"
Working alongside Sahakar Consultancy from Mumbai, the first thing we tackled wasn't the look—it was the "bones." In an open colony like Doongaji, wind pressure can be a silent killer for a tensile parking unit. If the structure isn't calculated for uplift and lateral loads, it becomes a sail that can pull its own foundations out.
We didn't just "guess" the pipe thickness. Our team ran a full structural analysis for wind speed stability. We used Apollo ISI marked heavy-duty Mild Steel (Grade YST 210). Every joint was double-checked for load distribution. We wanted a tensile canopy that looked light and airy but felt like an anchor in a storm. It’s that extra step in engineering that allows us to sleep at night.
The "Ferrari" of Fabrics: Serge Ferrari 902 S2
Shahid ji was very clear: he didn't want a roof that turned yellow or sagged after two monsoons. For a high-end tensile shed, there is really only one answer. We suggested Serge Ferrari 902 S2 (950 GSM) in a crisp white.
What makes this fabric special is the "Precontraint" technology. Most fabrics stretch in one direction more than the other, leading to wrinkles over time. The Ferrari fabric is tensioned in both directions during manufacturing, so it stays perfectly flat and drum-tight for 15+ years. Plus, the PVDF coating acts like a shield; the dust from Raipur's busy roads doesn't stick to it. One good rain, and the tensile fabric membrane structure looks brand new again.
From 3D Design to a Precise Finish
We handled every single step. From the initial site visit to the 3D modeling where we showed how the curves would look against his house, to the final installation. We used Epoxy White paint applied via compressor to ensure the steel had that smooth, automotive-grade finish. No rough welds, no visible bolts where they shouldn't be.
